Ultra-thin peripheral light sensor 'OPT3006'
The OPT3006 is a single-chip illuminance sensor that measures the illuminance of visible light as perceived by the human eye.
Its high-precision spectral response closely matches the photopic response of the human eye. With powerful infrared (IR) removal, it accurately measures illuminance as seen by the human eye, regardless of the light source. This maintains high accuracy even when the sensor needs to be placed under dark glass.
In combination with backlight ICs and lighting control systems, it can create various lighting environments and is suitable as an alternative to photodiodes, photoresistors, and low-performance ambient light sensors. The built-in full-scale setting feature eliminates the need for manual selection of the full-scale range, allowing measurements from 0.01 lux to 83k lux. This capability enables light measurements across a 23-bit effective dynamic range. Additionally, it provides flexible digital operation for system integration, allowing for continuous or single measurements.
